Most perforated metal is produced as round holes. Why? Round hole punches are easier to make and maintain resulting in greater efficiency and less expense than other hole shapes. The dies and blocks are easier to manufacturer, last longer, and produce stronger patterns than other hole shapes. 

Standard perforation patterns include 60, 90 and 45 degree orientation.

Technical capabilities of perforated metal:

Perforation size: 0.5mm - 150mm. (additional Perforation sizes areavailable on request)

Sheet Thickness: Popular thickness: 0.4mm - 12mm. JD can perforate upto 25mm thick on special request/order

Sheet sizes: Standard sizes include 2mx1m, 2.44mx1.22m, 2.5mx1.25m and3mx1.5m. Sheets 4mx2m are perforated on our larger machines. Longer lengths upto 6m perforated by specific request.

Percentage open area: All open areas are possible however the standardtooling tends to be between 20% and 60% open area

materials including of :stainless steel sheets, aluminium sheets, steel sheets, galvanised steel and brass etc.

Round holes patterns can be used to:

Separate rock or ore

Filter and control gas and fluids

Suppress noise in jet engines while allowing air flow

Filter air to keep electronic equipment clean and cool
